A Literature Survey on Object Tracking

The goal of this article is to review the state of the art of tracking methods, classify them into different categories, and identify new useful tracking methods . Many difficulties arise in object tracking due to camera motion, occlusions, non rigid object structures, abrupt changes in the appearance patters of both the object and the scene, therefore object tracking is a challenging problem. In this paper we present different object representations, their detection and categorize different tracking methods on the basis of the object and motion representation used.
